rohan : omaha newborn photography

Once upon a time, I was in high school. And while there, I met Mike, who was dating one (or two) of my friends at the time. Mike was a really nice guy and fun to hang out with and he was always around until our little group parted ways during college. Flash forward ten years later, and Mike and I reconnected via Facebook (which I have a slight addiction to. Go be a fan of "Photography by Lara"!). A few days after that, he found out he and his wife were having a baby! Little Rohan Patrick made his appearance tweleve days early - on Saint Patrick's day! His beautiful momma Sarah is Indian and Mike is Irish, and Rohan was a name that had both Indian AND Irish origins! Can you believe that?

Because two seconds after getting in this position, this happened...


Now, that happens all the time at newborn shoots, but I've never captured it like that before. :)

The little guy was SO GOOD and slept through all the pose and wardrobe changes wonderfully. Every single time I photograph newborns, I remember how very lucky I am to be able to do this.
