let me take you back a bit....

I don't have anything new to blog right now - that will change quickly as I'm editing the six month shoot of the extremely drooly (droolly?) and extremely cute Hudson and have tons of shoots coming up, but right now at this very moment, I don't have anything fresh to post. Since I know the three people that follow me are most likely desperately waiting for a new post, refreshing my blog every minute to see if there is anything new (right??), I thought I'd go back in my archives and post some old pictures that I took.

Before I had my 5D, I had my XTi. Before I had my XTi, I had my Sony point & shoot. Here are a couple pictures that I took with my little Sony before I really even ever got into photography. I really had no idea what I was doing - I just knew that I liked making pretty pictures. You can see my lack of knowledge of composition in some of them...I didn't learn the rule of thirds until later. :)

This is one of my favorite pictures ever...I always wonder about this girl. Who is she? What was she doing? Where did she get those rad boots?



From my trip to Europe in 2005.




Okay, I have to comment on this one, taken in Paris. A French woman? On the metro? With a baguette?? It could only have been more perfect if she was riding a bicycle.




And here is a picture that will serve as a lesson to those of you who use point and shoots - TURN OFF YOUR FLASH! Or at least turn it off sometimes, in situations like this. I never would have gotten this picture in Versailles with my flash on. Prop your camera on something to account for the longer exposure so it doesn't get blurry.


Playing around with long exposures at Notre Dame and Montmarte (again, I had my camera propped on something to keep it still).


Believe it or not, I took this one from a moving train!




I also took it to New York with me.


And back to Omaha...




This was taken much more recently - this last summer when I went to Washington, DC with my mom and sister. It makes me laugh.


Next I'll post about my adventures with my XTi. It hasn't traveled as much as my Sony did, but I did have some fun with it before I moved up to my big daddy 5D.
